Sep 16, 2011. I am trying to install client access V5R4 on a WIndows 7 Pro 64 bit pc. I click on install and it starts and then it just vanishes. I can install on WIn 7 Pro 32bit fine, so I think it might have. My SQL admins want a newer client Access for an ODBC connection from a Windows SQL Server 2008 to this old IBM box. We have been using an old Client Access from 1998.

I just click on the about and it says 'IBM Workstation Program version 4.3 for Windows 95, 98, and NT'. Basically our ERP is in Windows with a SQL Server in Windows. They need to update the data on the IBM server from the Windows ERP. We are upgrading our ERP and this issue is holding our ERP upgrade at the moment. Unfortunately I have no experience with IBM. So I have been tasked to find out if there is a newer supported Client Access.

I believe they need the drivers to create a connection from SQL in Windows to the IBM server to transfer data.
