I'm not sure why. My issue was the two pieces that would not fit. If I remember, I was using a Void at the time, so I think that is where the problem came in. Essentially the center squares (which are missing) on the Void puzzle must have been in the wrong location. It would be impossible to tell this while doing the puzzle.
